Chapter 1 Chapter 2
One of the challenges with SharePoint is displaying site content on the portal. In SharePoint for Dummies, I give you some pointers on how to use a technology called RSS to create news feeds of your SharePoint content.
RSS is a technology that allows you to broadcast content over the Web.
To find RSS feeds on the Web, go to the NewsIsFree Web site.
In chapter 6, I show you how to use the Bluedog Limited Syndication Generator to create RSS feeds of your SharePoint content.
Another very nice RSS generator can be found at U2U's Web site.
To display the generated feeds on another SharePoint site or your portal site, use an RSS viewer like the one from Smiling Goat .
A viewer that works great for displaying third party RSS feeds is at George Tsioko's Web site.
